Geospatial Authority and Saudi Broadcasting Authority Sign Cooperation Agreement at the Saudi Media Forum

On the first day of the Saudi Media Forum 2025, the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information signed a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Broadcasting Authority in Riyadh. The agreement was formalized in the presence of leading media decision-makers and industry experts.
The memorandum aims to strengthen media collaboration in supporting the geospatial sector, ensuring that Saudi Arabia’s official map, foundational maps, and geospatial data are recognized as the official reference for media usage. Additionally, it seeks to highlight the Kingdom’s contributions and leadership role in international geospatial organizations and committees, raise awareness about the importance of geospatial information in national development, and support related initiatives and participation. The agreement also includes provisions for training and developing national media professionals in the geospatial field.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel, President of the Geospatial Authority, and Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, CEO of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority.
It is noteworthy that the Geospatial Authority, in accordance with its mandate, is responsible for developing and standardizing the national geospatial infrastructure, ensuring the integration and accessibility of geospatial data across relevant sectors.
