His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, emphasized that agents of influence require agents of change, noting that the transformation led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, has created a real and tangible impact for the Kingdom on the global stage. Speaking at a panel discussion moderated by Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari as part of the fourth edition of the Saudi Media Forum, titled “Corridors of Energy and Decision-Making”, Prince Abdulaziz stated that the concept of change-makers in Saudi Arabia has evolved into a comprehensive vision. He pointed out that leaders in the Kingdom are now driving change, and those who embrace change are the ones who will ultimately benefit from it. He stressed the importance of recognizing that every individual has a role to play in shaping transformation. The Minister of Energy highlighted how Saudi Vision 2030 has made media content more accessible to influencers, emphasizing the inclusive and global nature of the Kingdom’s initiatives. He noted that today, “Saudi Arabia welcomes the world” and actively involves the international community in its programs and major events, including hosting Expo 2030, the 2034 FIFA World Cup, and opening opportunities for participation across tourism, economy, media, trade, and investment sectors. Reflecting on his experiences in the media spotlight, Prince Abdulaziz recounted moments when he had to address the public during challenging circumstances, notably during the attack on Aramco facilities. He acknowledged the emotional, psychological, and economic impact of the incident but emphasized the necessity of stepping forward despite the difficulties. He also shared his approach to preparing officials and employees at the Ministry of Energy by exposing them to similar high-pressure experiences to break psychological barriers and develop crisis management capabilities. Discussing his past media appearances, the Minister noted that each engagement had its unique context and necessity—some required his presence due to his position, while others were essential in strengthening the outcomes of key events. He expressed a particular fondness for participating in Misk Foundation conferences, highlighting his passion for education and his background as a former professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Citing his participation in the International Mining Conference, he pointed out how energy security has evolved beyond oil and petroleum exports from the Middle East. Today, it encompasses natural resources and essential components for renewable energy, making participation in such discussions crucial due to the significant impact of Saudi Arabia’s message on the global energy landscape. On his experience in oil markets, Prince Abdulaziz stated that understanding energy requires a broad, multidisciplinary perspective. He argued that energy cannot be comprehended through a narrow focus on prices and markets alone—instead, the sector is far more complex and interconnected. He stressed that to become an energy expert, one must acquire a holistic understanding, encompassing various scientific and economic disciplines, and be adaptable to the ever-changing dynamics of the energy industry.
