The Saudi Media Forum held two strategic meetings with senior executives from Warner Bros. Discovery and the Associated Press (AP) as part of its “Media Bridges” initiative, on the sidelines of its participation in the International Exhibition for Digital Media and Satellite Communications (CABSAT 2025).
The first meeting with Warner Bros. Discovery focused on developing Saudi talent in media production, creative content, and advanced entertainment technologies. Both parties explored the creation of a sustainable training ecosystem aligned with modern industry transformations. The envisioned system includes hands-on training, knowledge transfer, and direct involvement in international joint production projects.
Discussions also covered future trends in production and post-production, such as multi-platform directing, media supply chain management, advanced cinematography tools, visual effects, and editing technologies—offering Saudi creatives real opportunities to sharpen their skills and engage in professional environments.
The forum and Warner Bros. also discussed launching specialized training programs and long-term knowledge exchange that would empower Saudi youth in fields such as visual storytelling, digital production, and cinematic technologies. The conversation extended to enhancing user experience and integrating local content with OTT (Over-The-Top) platforms to meet the expectations of global audiences.
In the second meeting, the forum convened with leaders from the Associated Press to explore areas of cooperation in developing both news and digital content, as well as training national media professionals through advanced programs. These programs aim to equip participants with skills in advanced editing, real-time and analytical coverage, and working within international editorial environments.
The discussions emphasized transferring AP’s journalistic expertise, particularly in agenda setting, leveraging artificial intelligence in content creation, and building multiplatform coverage strategies. This would contribute to elevating the quality of Saudi media content and its readiness to engage with the ever-evolving global media landscape.
During both meetings, the Saudi Media Forum presented the “SMF Connect” initiative, designed to empower young talent to produce globally relevant media content through various tracks, including marketing, content writing, translation, photography, and editing. The initiative aims to deliver tailored media content that reflects Saudi culture and strengthens global communication by nurturing national competencies and student skills—supporting the broader goals of enhancing media quality and creatively promoting Saudi identity.
These engagements fall under the objectives of the “Media Bridges” initiative launched by the Saudi Media Forum, serving as a strategic platform to build stronger ties between Saudi media and leading global media institutions, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
