Saudi Arabia is rapidly solidifying its position as a global hub for the media industry and digital innovation. Riyadh has emerged as a key attraction for international media companies and industry specialists. With increasing investments in media infrastructure, the Saudi capital is leading the way in hosting major events that bring together experts and top institutions in the sector.
The Saudi Media Forum, held over three days at the Hilton Hotel in Riyadh, serves as a premier platform where decision-makers, experts, and media pioneers from around the world convene to discuss fundamental transformations shaping the industry.
The forum addressed pivotal issues reflecting the profound changes in the media landscape, featuring key discussions on topics such as "Digital Transformation in Saudi Arabia," "The Influence of Social Media on Public Opinion," and "The Role of Media in Advancing Energy Transition and Sustainable Innovation." Additionally, specialized sessions covered "Media and the Making of Political Figures," where attendees examined the case of former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as well as "Content Creation: From Ideas to Screens," highlighting evolving production techniques and distribution strategies in media.
Bringing together a distinguished lineup of international and regional speakers, the forum explored the future of media in light of rapid technological advancements. Discussions centered on leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and interactive media to enhance the industry’s impact and evolution.
A key highlight of the forum was the launch of the "Spotlight" initiative, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s major developmental projects, including its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Attendees were presented with designs for 15 stadiums that reflect the unique identities of Saudi cities. The initiative also featured an overview of Red Sea Global’s flagship destinations, including The Red Sea, Amaala, and Thuwal Resort, along with 19 new destinations set to open by 2025. Meanwhile, the Handicrafts Initiative drew significant engagement, with its pavilion—designed in the shape of an "Al-Ahsa Jar"—celebrating the artistry of Saudi craftsmen. The "Foundation Pavilion" provided attendees with insights into Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural and historical heritage, reinforcing the nation’s enduring values.
With its strategic location and advanced infrastructure, Riyadh continues to solidify its role as a regional capital for media and a leading destination for global media industry events. The city is shaping the future of media by integrating visionary ambitions with tangible achievements, opening new horizons for the sector both locally and internationally.
Saudi Arabia remains committed to strengthening its position as a global leader in media and digital innovation. Through sustained investments and specialized events that bring together global experts and creative minds, the Kingdom is ensuring its media landscape keeps pace with the industry's rapid evolution.
